Big Meadow
Big Meadow

Intimate ceremonies are some of my favorites! Micro-weddings and elopements are becoming increasingly popular. If you are a adventurous couple looking for a unique experience while celebrating your love then eloping might just be for you! Keep in mind when eloping in Shenandoah National Park there are some permits required for larger parties so be sure to confirm!

My adventurous couple chose to have a small elopement with their family at Skyland Resort followed by a formal dinner prepared by the resort chefs. Once the ceremony was complete the family took some time to mingle and rest while I hopped in the car with the couple and drove a few miles down Skyline Drive to Big Meadows. After a short hike through the meadows we reached a STUNNING view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It seriously took our breath away!

With sunset quickly approaching we quickly drove back toward Skyland Resort and prepared to hike Stony Man Trail at sunset. This is one of my favorite hikes for couples! The hike is fairly easy and pretty short. Be prepared as the air is always colder at the top of the mountain and headlamps are helpful for the hike back. We basically had the mountaintop to ourselves! Scroll to see the dreamy photos.
